User Security

The User Security section in Oracle Insurance Rules Workbench allows administrators to manage users and assign them specific security roles.

Note: Each user can only be assigned one role in this section.

Search a User in Palette Security

  1. In the Navigation Explorer (left panel), navigate to Security | Palette Security.

  2. Click the Palette Security folder to expand it.

  3. Select the User Security file. This opens the User Security Configuration Area on the right panel.

  4. Scroll through the user list, or:

    • Use the Filter option at the top of the user list to locate a user.

    • Enter a portion of the user name in the filter field to display matching results.

  5. Sort the list by clicking column headers such as User Name or Roles.

Create a New User in Palette Security

  1. In the Navigation Explorer (left panel), navigate to Security | Palette Security.

  2. Click the Palette Security folder to expand.

  3. Select the User Security file. This opens the User Security Configuration Area on the right panel.

  4. In the top-right corner of the panel, click the Add new button.

  5. A new editable row appears in the user list.

  6. Enter the mandatory user details in the following fields.

    • User Name: Enter the desired username.

    • Password: Enter the password. To reveal or hide input, use the eye icon.

    • Roles: Select an appropriate role from the dropdown list.

    • In the Actions column:

      • Click the icon to confirm the entry (or)

        Note: This action does not immediately save the user to the database. It only moves entry to the confirmation state.

      • Click the X icon to discard the entry.

  7. The new user appears in the tabular grid. Use the filter option or scroll to locate the user.

  8. Sort the list by clicking column headers such as User Name or Roles.

  9. Click the Save Row icon to save the user to the database.

  10. The Roles column includes hyperlinks. Clicking the role name opens a panel that displays the list of privileges assigned to that role.

  11. Click the X at the top right of the User Security tab to close the panel when finished.

Edit a User in Palette Security

  1. In the Navigation Explorer (left panel), navigate to Security | Palette Security.

  2. Click the Palette Security folder to expand it.

  3. Select the User Security file. This opens the User Security Configuration Area on the right panel.

  4. Scroll through the list or use the Filter option to locate the user to be edited.

  5. Use the filter option or scroll to locate the user to be edited.

  6. To modify the user:

    • Click the Pencil icon under the Actions column for the corresponding user. The row becomes editable.

    • Modify the User Name, Password, or Roles as needed.

    • Click the icon to confirm change, or X to cancel.

      Note: This step does not save the changes. The row transitions only to a confirmation state.

    • After confirming, additional icons appear in the Actions column:

      • Pencil: Reopen the row for editing.

      • Delete: Remove the user entirely.

      • Save: Apply and save the changes to the database.

      • Revert: Discard recent changes and restore the original data.

    • Click Save Row icon.

    • User list sorting remains available using column headers.

  7. Click the X at the top right of the User Security tab to close the panel when finished.

Delete a User in Palette Security

  1. In the Navigation Explorer (left panel), navigate to Security | Palette Security.

  2. Click the Palette Security folder to expand it.

  3. Select the User Security file. This opens the User Security Configuration Area on the right panel.

  4. Use the filter option or scroll to locate the user to delete.

  5. To delete a user

    1. Click the Delete Row icon under the Actions column of the user entry to be deleted.

    2. Confirm the deletion if prompted: "Are you sure you want to delete user: ABC?" Select OK to confirm or Cancel to abort the action.

  6. Click the X at the top right of the User Security tab to close the panel when finished.
